Dr Melvina Woode Owusu

Melvina is an Honorary Associate Professor at UCL’s Institute for Global Health, the Founder and Director of Purple Pen Research and Evaluation Consulting, and a Trustee of the Race Equality Foundation.

She has worked in HIV and sexual health for over 15 years across public health surveillance, academia and the community sector.

Working at the intersection of research, policy and the equity, equality, diversity and inclusion agenda, Melvina is passionate about addressing the inequalities experienced by Black communities and ensuring that community knowledge genuinely shapes research, services and policy.
