Positive Health – Season 2 – Episode 4

In this episode of Positive Health, two international leaders in the HIV sector share their perspectives on some of the inequalities and barriers still shaping the HIV response.

Brazilian journalist and broadcaster Alberto Pereira Jr., Master of Ceremonies at AIDS 2026, brings his perspective as a Black gay man living with HIV. Colombian scientist and trans rights advocate Amanita Calderon-Cifuentes draws on her research, advocacy and lived experience.

Together with host Susan Cole-Haley, they explore racism and HIV inequalities affecting Black communities, access to new HIV prevention technologies, and the intersecting barriers faced by trans people and sex workers. They also discuss why lived experience and community leadership are essential to creating effective, inclusive solutions.
